OVERVIEW

Talabat is a popular online food and grocery delivery App operating in the Middle East.
The user often orders for a group of friends, family, or a company with different food desires and cravings. However, when it comes to payment, it's a hassle to pay individually and collect the money.

So I decided to redesign the app to enhance the overall user experience by simplifying the process of coordinating and placing group orders that allows multiple users to collaborate on a single food order.

Whether it's a cozy night in or a weekend get-together,
the group order feature allows you to customize orders to each person's liking, enabling everyone in the group to focus on enjoying the food they desire and the company, without the hassle of collecting money from everyone.

redesign the app to enhance the overall user experience by simplifying the process of coordinating and placing group orders that allow multiple users to collaborate on a single food order.

USER
RESEARCH

To gain a deep understanding of user needs and pain points,
we conducted user research that included surveys and semi-structured interviews with customers.

Key insights included:

- Users often found it challenging to coordinate group orders for larger gatherings.
- Order customization and payment splitting were common user requirements.
- Many users wanted a feature that allowed them to easily share order details with friends or colleagues.

SOLUTION

Based on the research insights, I developed solutions for the "Group Order" feature. That allows one user to initiate an order and share it with others through a QR code. Each participant could customize their meal choices, and the organizer could finalize the order and process payment.

WIRFRAMES

I created wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes to visualize the user journey. Iterative design and usability testing helped refine the user interface and user flows.

STYLE GUIDE

The visual design incorporated the existing app's branding while aiming for a more minimal design.

THE FINAL PRODUCT

Emphasizing the social and collaborative nature of the group order feature.

1- Start by sharing the code

Users can start the group order via a QR code to emphasize the social and collaborative nature of the group order feature, to be physically engaging.

2- Continue to Choose your order

3- Restaurant Page

4- Basket Page

In the basket users can review all the orders categorised by the restaurant for easy navigation.

Each person can pay individually and after processing all the payments the organizer could finalize the order and place the order.
